FAQ – Tasks, reminders, logbook and maintenance schedule
Learn more about task management in Ready4Sea: maintenance schedule and upcoming reminders, logging completed tasks, and how to receive alerts.
Doing so updates the reminder and creates the corresponding logbook entry. If the reminder is recurring, this also sets the date for the next reminder. On the other hand, if it is non-recurring, the reminder is then removed from the maintenance schedule. In addition, the logbook entry is automatically created to track the completed task. All this can be done in just a few clicks.
Ready4Sea can send you reminders by email or push notification. To make sure you don’t miss any deadlines, set your notification preferences by choosing to be alerted by email and/or push notification (available on smartphones and tablets only).
Notifications must be enabled on each device separately. This is because permissions for push notifications are specific to each device. This is a limitation of the Android and iOS operating systems.
Use the Enable personal calendar feature in your reminders.
From your unit’s reminders page, or directly from the “Next reminder” section of your unit details, select the “Add to my calendar” option and enable the personal calendar. You will then have the link to use for your calendar software.
Important: in order for calendar events to reflect future changes in Ready4Sea, you must “subscribe” to the feed and not perform a simple one-off import.
It depends on your calendar app. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. Ready4Sea’s iCal/ICS feed is available continuously. However, depending on whether you use Outlook, Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or another service, the settings may differ. In some cases, you may not even be able to speed up the synchronization process. Don’t panic, though, it always syncs in the end!
In your profile preferences, you can choose the currency to use for cost management. This will then be used by default for all new entries in the maintenance log.
